Volunteer Spotlight: Sandra Dugan

Pesto-Chicken-for-CRAOver the past few weeks Sandra Dugan has volunteered and participated in two hospitality industry events. The events were the Colorado Restaurant Association’s Drink Red Wear Red event and the Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association’s Delightful Dishes and Dreamy Getaways event. The CRA helped to raise funds for the Colorado’s Pro-Start Program, Project Angel Heart and the Hardship fund for the Mile High chapter of the Colorado Restaurant association. Community Spotlight: Dame Michele Morris

Bradley kids carrot slawDame Michele Morris began volunteering her time with kids through school garden programs almost immediately after launching her business to provide private cooking lessons. Over the years she has cooked with kids at various schools in the metro area, done cooking demonstrations in DPS classrooms on Colorado Proud Day, cooked samples to hand out at Youth Farmers’ Markets, and held family harvest festivals with student gardeners and their parents. Beginning in 2015, Dame Morris will take on the role of Slow Food Denver’s Cooking Teacher in the Seed-to-Table program across the metro area. Slow Food Denver’s Seed-to-Table program supports school gardens and taste education classes in schools across the metro area, empowering children to become enthusiastic supporters of good, clean, fair food.
