Marcia Kramer received her culinary training at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. While attending school, she worked at Camille’s Roman Garden on Federal Hill designing and creating new menus. Her background in front of the house service and management was essential to her success within the industry. Chef Kramer has worked in the pastry field for over 20 years, working with top chefs including gold medal Olympian Christian Clayton at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She joined the faculty of Johnson & Wales University Denver campus in 2001, and maintains an independent cake decorating and consulting business.
In addition to her Associates degree in Pastry Arts, Chef Kramer has 2 Bachelor’s degrees one in Speech Communication and one in Telecommunications from the Pennsylvania State University. She has also completed her Master’s degree in Adult Education at Regis University. Chef Kramer was promoted to the position of Associate Professor of Johnson & Wales University- Denver Campus in 2009.
Chef Kramer remains active with the American Culinary Federation/ Colorado Chef’s Association (ACF/CCA) and participates in a week long fundraiser annually in Telluride CO. This effort has raised over $70,000 for scholarships since its inception. In addition, she is active with Les Dames d’ Escoffier International (LDEI). She has served on the board of directors in both officer position (President & 1st Vice President) as well as a director for LDEI
An avid outdoor enthusiast, you can find Marcia rock climbing, fishing, hiking, camping, snowboarding or otherwise enjoying nature. She currently resides in Boulder with her 2 cats, Bodhisattva and Pranayama.
